Fascinating Water Lily Experiment!
admin on: Reception
Today, the children did an experiment where they coloured in some water lilies, folded the petals into the center, placed it on top of some water in a tray then something magical happened...
The petals opened up gradually to reveal the flower they had beautifully decorated!
Here is a a template for the flower and a link to the website which gives you step by step guide so you can have a go at home!

TOPIC
Mind-mapping and information writing
What would someone need to know if they were ever lucky enough to find a bog baby? Using shared writing make a mind-map together of all the things that the children already know about bog babies sorting them by categories such as what he is like, what he eats, where he lives. Children go on to write information booklets about bog babies and send them to the address at the back of the book.
Use sheet to write down what a Bog Baby might need
.Looking after a Bog Thing Writing Frame
ART
Make a background of blue/green/yellow with whatever media you choose and draw a Bog Baby to add to the background.
The Bog baby could be attached by a spring?
