Attendance

At Netherthong Primary School we believe that good attendance is vital to a child being able to achieve their best. Any absence will affect this and regular absence will seriously affect their learning. It can also disrupt teaching routines, which may also affect the learning of others in the same class.

Staff work with pupils and their families to ensure that each pupil attends school regularly and punctually, communicating effectively with pupils, parents and appropriate agencies to provide mutual information, advice and support.

For our children to gain the greatest benefit from their education it is vital that they attend school regularly and punctually. In order for any attendance and punctuality policy to be effective it must be consistently applied throughout the whole school, by its staff, pupils and parents. Our attendance policy can be found under our 'policies' page.

Although being absent cannot always be helped as we all do become ill from time to time, please take a look at the information below about the importance of regular attendance.
