Owly Fun Day!
admin on: Reception
21st October 2020
Today, following the theme of autumn we have been looking at owls. We made different owls using different media. We have visited our school library for the first time today and the children have a book in their bags. Library will be every Wednesday so please can you bring your books in so children can choose new books on this day.
On the cutting and sticking table we used different shades of brown to create our owl outline before adding beaks and eyes.
Also, we made tube owls by rolling a piece of paper to make a cylinder before adding detail such as wings, eyes and a beak.
On the painting table we painted our hands brown then printed hem on the paper to create owls. We sat them on branches with little leaf shoots.
What a hoot we have had today!
Have a lovely half term break!

14th October 2020
Today, we have continued to look at the book The Paper Dolls by Julia Donaldson.
We have worked as a team to create our very own class paper doll chain! We developed our cutting and sticking skills to cut around the outline of the doll then coloured them in beautiful colours!
As a random act of kindness, we drew pictures on pieces of wood which we then thread some string through. The children have then decided to give them to someone to make them smile!
What a lovely bunch of children we have in Reception!
